Passing the Baton

Hi, I'd like to take a moment and introduce myself to all who are visiting for the first time. My name is Brenda and it is my privilege to pick up where fellow artist, Pat Winter of Chesterton has left off. By "luck" or guided angel, you pick, I was introduced to Pat via my backyard neighbor....I was admiring one of the dolls she made in Pat's class and well...that quickly led me to pick up this wonderful project.

I can't wait to get started, and I look forward to our future of helping women to move out of the darkness and fear of abuse, into the light of hope and courage.

Smiles to all,
Brenda

  1. I cannot express the joy I felt when you inquired about taking over this project. My heart is still singing. Thank you so much for seeing the need and accepting this task.It was hard to think this project was ending, and now it takes on a new life. It is such a much needed venture and over 1000 have already been "hugged" by way of receiving a Comfort Doll, not to mention the love the creators felt while making their beautiful dolls for these women. Thank you and I will direct the donors to your open arms. Blessings to you and your family. Pat

  5. Oh my Gosh you guys, this is wonderful. I was looking at the Vancouver Ladies and their comfort dolls which are sent to Africa. They included a pattern for squishy knit and crocheted dolls for kids. In the past, have the kids been included in this project. I have some knitting connections who may want to knit the basic square needed and then my thought is I could send these out perhaps and then someone could embellish and send back....that's just one idea. This is the first time I've been exposed to blogging, so, I'm still learning the basics on posting and adding other gadgets and items.

    Smiles to All,
    Brenda
